Grilled Kebabs and Culinary Fusion: Discover the Spicy Adana Kebab

Kebabs, a culinary delight enjoyed by many across the globe, boast a rich history that dates back centuries. Originating in the Middle East, the term “kebab” is derived from the Arabic word “kabāb,” meaning “to grill” or “to roast.” The earliest references to kebabs can be traced back to medieval Persian texts, where soldiers are said to have skewered meat on their swords and cooked it over open fires.

As the concept of grilling meat spread through trade and conquest, kebabs found their way into various cultures, each adapting the dish to local tastes and ingredients. In Turkey, the kebab evolved into the beloved döner kebab, made with layers of seasoned meat cooked on a vertical rotisserie.

The Spicy Adana kebab featured on our menu is from the Adana region of Turkey where the ground meat is mixed with vegetables spices and herbs served with our house made tzatziki and spicy zhoug sauce with a side of fattoush salad.

Throughout history, kebabs have transcended their humble origins to become a symbol of cultural exchange and culinary fusion. Today, they are enjoyed in myriad forms, from the street food stalls of Istanbul to the fine dining establishments of New York. Whether served with rice, wrapped in flatbread, or accompanied by tangy sauces, kebabs continue to captivate palates worldwide, celebrating a shared love for grilled flavors.
